Product Description
An exceptionally rare ONE-OFF handmade custom folding knife, NO.R8-4, by Japanese artist Yukio Nibe (二部幸夫).
The blade is crafted from carbon steel reclaimed from a remnant of a traditional Japanese sword, preserving the distinctive character of the original material.
Featuring a straight-edged blade with visible forging marks, the knife incorporates a blackened spine and shinogi-ji (blade flat), creating a striking contrast between the steel surfaces.
The iron handle features a distinctive cloth-and-lacquer impregnation treatment with a painted finish, reflecting the artist's unconventional approach to materials and surface texture.
Measuring approximately 248mm overall with a 103mm blade body, the knife weighs approximately 236 grams.
The piece bears the artist's signature, “Heiju” (平寿).
A collectible Japanese custom knife bringing together traditional sword steel, distinctive surface treatments, and contemporary metal artistry.
One piece only. Made in Japan.
