A custom mechanical ballpoint pen created by renowned Japanese custom knifemaker and metal artist Hidetoshi Nakayama.

Crafted primarily from stainless steel, the pen exposes its mechanical construction rather than hiding it inside a conventional body. Its sliding mechanism, visible springs, mechanical clip, and precisely machined components come together in Nakayama’s distinctive steampunk-inspired design language.

Unlike a conventional pen where the mechanism disappears beneath the exterior, here the mechanism itself becomes part of the design.

At approximately 97.3 g, the pen has a substantial metal presence in hand, while the SCHMIDT P900 refill provides practical everyday writing performance.
