Collection: REN ERJIAN

Taiwanese Custom Knifemaker

Ren Erjian is a Taiwanese custom knifemaker known for blending the traditional weaving techniques of Taiwan's Indigenous Seediq people with contemporary knife artistry.

He spent nearly two years studying under an Indigenous master artisan, learning techniques passed down through generations. Although his mentor has since passed away, the craftsmanship he shared continues to live on through Ren's creations.

Each knife features a meticulously handwoven rattan handle, personally crafted by Ren. From weaving and finishing to the final aging process, every step is completed entirely by hand, creating rich textures and a distinctive, timeworn character.

The contrast between natural woven materials and carefully crafted steel defines his unmistakable artistic style, earning recognition among knifemakers, enthusiasts, and collectors in Taiwan and Japan.

More than a handcrafted knife, each creation is a tribute to tradition — preserving the past while shaping something entirely new.
