Seki Outdoors Knife Show 2025 Exhibition Report|Sunizumi Shoten
On October 11–12, 2025, one of Japan’s largest knife industry events, the Seki Hamono Festival, was held grandly in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture — the city long known as Japan’s “Capital of Blades.”
From traditionally forged kitchen knives to outdoor knives infused with modern aesthetics, the entire venue became a true celebration of craftsmanship.
Domestic and international artisans, collectors, and brands gathered under one roof, creating two days of vibrant exchange where tradition and innovation intertwined beautifully.
This year marked Sunizumi Shoten’s first-ever appearance at the show, where we proudly unveiled our inaugural handmade outdoor knife — “Shou-brown.”
🏆 A Moment of Honor — “Shou-brown” Wins the Chairman’s Award
In our debut year, “Shou-brown” was highly praised for its exceptional functionality and distinctive aesthetic expression, earning the Chairman’s Award at the 33rd Seki OutdoorsKnifeShow.

Inspired by nature, this knife blends traditional forging techniques with a modern ergonomic design, achieving a refined balance between practicality and beauty.
The award recognizes not only the craftsmanship behind the piece but also the spirit and dedication infused into its creation — a meaningful milestone and a powerful inspiration for future challenges.

🔗 Encounters Through the Edge
At the event, we were delighted to reunite with many longtime friends and meet new knife enthusiasts who share our passion.
Each conversation became a lesson; every interaction, a motivation.
This exhibition and award are not the destination, but rather a new beginning for Sunizumi Shoten.
🌿 Toward Knives That Resonate With Nature
At Sunizumi Shoten, our philosophy remains unchanged:
“To craft knives that live in harmony with nature and resonate with the human heart.”
We pour our focus and passion into every blade, continuing to challenge ourselves toward new heights of craftsmanship.
We believe that a knife is not merely a tool, but a reflection of one’s sensibility and aesthetic vision.
With every creation, we aim to share a new world of blades — one where nature, people, and craftsmanship exist in perfect harmony.
